Yes, another change has happened. But, this new update means that owners do not have to have signed specialized paperwork from their veterinarian or 6 months of records! This will save travellers and veterinarians large amounts of time.
Owner’s need the following:
🐶 Fill out the new CDC Dog Import Form (see below)⬇️
🐶 Dog must appear healthy
🐶 Must be 6 months of age and not older
🐶 Dog must have microchip that can be read by a universal scanner
Note: There is no longer requirement for proof of rabies vaccination for dogs travelling from low-risk countries, but remember that proof of current rabies vaccination is still required for dogs returning to Canada from the US. Check out
